This style is called "Drunken" because it looks like the person cutting them had a little too much to drink!  This particular set was made out of Purple Heart and Flame Maple.  Purple Heart is sourced from South America, and actually that striking color naturally.  There is no stains on these, only polyurethane.  These started out as cutting boards, but were too beautiful to think of using a knife on them, so I decided they were better suited as serving trays.

These are also available in other striking woods such as Padauk, Sirari and Bloodwood combinations.  They can also be routed on the top to prevent drinks from sliding off that slick finish.
